Advancing knowledge through rigorous interdisciplinary inquiry
The Research Committee at IACER is dedicated to promoting, supporting, and coordinating research activities across all programs. It provides guidance to M.Phil. students, facilitates faculty research, and organizes scholarly events including seminars, workshops, and conferences.
The committee ensures that research conducted at IACER meets the highest standards of academic integrity, ethical practice, and scholarly rigor. It works closely with Pokhara University's research division to align institutional research goals.
Research at IACER spans a broad range of interdisciplinary areas in the humanities, social sciences, and communication studies, with a particular focus on Nepali and South Asian contexts.
The committee assigns qualified supervisors to each M.Phil. student and monitors progress through regular committee meetings, ensuring timely completion and academic quality.
IACER hosts annual and biennial conferences where students, faculty, and invited scholars present and discuss their research. The events attract participants from across Nepal and abroad.
IACER supports faculty and student publication in peer-reviewed journals, edited volumes, and IACER's own academic publication series. We assist with writing, editing, and submission.
Regular workshops on research methodology, academic writing, citation practices, and research ethics are organized to support researchers at all stages of their work.
IACER encourages collaborative research between faculty, students, and external partners including universities, NGOs, and policy organizations in Nepal and internationally.
The committee facilitates research exchanges and visiting scholar programs with partner institutions abroad, enriching IACER's academic culture with global perspectives.
All research at IACER must adhere to the principles of academic integrity: honesty, transparency, accountability, and respect for intellectual property. Plagiarism, data fabrication, and research misconduct are taken extremely seriously.
Research involving human subjects must receive prior approval from IACER's Ethics Review Board. Researchers must obtain informed consent and ensure confidentiality of participants.
IACER uses MLA citation style as its standard for humanities research. Students are trained in proper citation practices through the Writing Center's workshops.
IACER is committed to open access research dissemination. Students and faculty are encouraged to publish in open access journals where possible, making Nepali scholarship accessible globally.
